Tourism factsheet released by Visit England
Visit England has produced a new Tourism Factsheet, which brings together all the most important facts and figures relating to domestic overnight, inbound and day visitor tourism, with latest year data and trends since 2006.
The factsheet states that tourism contributes £97bn to the British economy and supports 2.2 million jobs.
It also notes that, while it is difficult to measure an exact number, there are between 6,000 and 7,000 visitor attractions in the UK.
