London, 24 November 2014: Last night the British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the winners for the annual British Academy Children’s Awards. For the first time ever, Cartoon Network won the BAFTA in the prestigious ‘Channel of the Year’ category, beating out CBeebies, CBBC and Cyw. Cartoon Network also picked up a BAFTA for one of its most popular shows, Adventure Time, in the ‘International’ category.
The two awards highlight Cartoon Network’s continued success, reinforcing the popularity of its leading comedy line-up and cementing the channel’s place as number one Pay TV channel for boys (4-15) in the UK.*
The British Academy Children’s Awards are presented annually to recognise, honour and reward individuals for outstanding achievement in children’s media. The award categories reflect the wealth and diversity of children’s media in film, television, games and online.
